Do I or don't I? Photo a day has been a real challenge for me but lately has become a bit of a chore. In the winter I don't really get out of the house much except for walking the dogs. This means that my daily picture ends up being taken late in the evening of some boring household object. I am in a real quandry about continuing next year.

We were lucky enough to get Skyport Radio triggers for Christmas. Unfortunately, to use on the SB600 you either need to use a hot shoe adapter or mod the flash to add a pc socket. We decided to do the mod.. Flash number 1.. two bits of metal fell out also a wire managed to break so we decided to take apart flash number 2 to locate where the pieces go! Bad light and a serious worry about drilling 6mm holes in the cases stopped play for this evening. Hopefully I will provide a positive update tomorrow :-s

Where's Bob?
Poor old Bob spent the day at the vets - ended up having 19 teeth removed. Marley didn't really settle all day

Tonight at 8:00pm they started roadworks outside of our house. The work is on for the next four nights and is likely to be noisy. It amazes me that they dig up the motorways in the middle of the holiday season but then chose to do roadworks in a residential area overnight. I am sure there are loads of good reasons for this approach but I feel grumpy!
Today's picture is star shaped bokeh of the workmen's lights.

This is Barbora, originally from Slovakia - now studying fine art at Canterbury University. I had not met her before but just wondered up and asked if I could take her picture. I am glad I did. You can see more pictures on my website.

Regulars here will know I've been suffering with a bad knee, I dislocated it boxing a few weeks ago and it was on the mend - or so I thought! I stood up from my desk today and the knee just gave way - so it looks like I will be back to the hospital tomorrow. Today's picture is the best I could manage.

At the start of this week I decided my theme would be strangers. I was going to venture outside and talk strangers into having their pictures taken. I failed at the first hurdle which involved going outside during daylight hours. I really fancy trying again but I think I will have to leave it until the summer. There is a Flickr group called '100 Strangers' if anyone fancies a real challenge. I started once but didn't get very far.
Today's offering is another abstract that nobody will guess - if you do you probably need therapy! I really am running out of ideas...

As I put on my left shoe yesterday I felt an obstruction - I pushed a little harder like you do. I was struck with nausea and dizziness - well not quite but I did feel something sting my toe. I pulled my foot out of the shoe and it was followed by a big angry bee. I hopped around and grabbed my camera - the bee should have been yesterday's picture but it was very stroppy. Anyway that's why yesterday's picture was rubbish, so on to today. My toe is swollen like a sausage - my wife said a chipolata! I did take a picture but I really don't like feet so I photographed my shoes. For those of you who are worried my foot is swollen but I think I will survive...
