I think doing this 365 project for a second year might not have been such a good move. I don't feel I am putting my heart and soul into it....

For anyone interested I put the camera on a tripod on a long exposure manually focused on the chair. I then used a torch to light the chair then sat down and shone the light on bits of my body and face.

I managed a lunchtime walk today and took some pictures near the Dover cruise terminal. This one was taken in the entrance to the Admiralty Pier which was originally the passenger walkway of Dover Marine Station.

I have not had a good evening. I couldn't get the Macbook to connect to my camera via USB. After accusing my son of messing something up he pointed out that I had the USB cable plugged into the power jack :-S I did feel stupid!

Today's picture is of Hannah's textiles homework - she is very artistic!

A throwaway today, this was taken whilst taking Thomas out for some driving practice tonight.

383 Like many others I am hooked on off camera lighting learning from the likes of Strobist and Zack Arias. Thomas and I managed to get to one of David Hobby's workshops the last time he was in London. I have been trying to build a small reliable set of flashes or strobes and had been picking up cheap second hand Cobra D650's. Initially these seemed fine but I am finding them unreliable and inconsistent so we are now always on the look out for used Nikon Speedlights. Over the last couple of weeks we have managed to pick up two excellent used SB28's from Grays of Westminster. Looking back I wish I'd gone for the Nikon's in the first place.

Once again demonstrating my action packed life I end up on a Saturday night taking pictures of fruit. In all fairness we have had a nice day but the weather has been awful again so photo opportunities were non existent! Anyway, today I present Bramley Apples - the finest of all cooking apples. I am optimistic that these will find their way into a pie tomorrow... http://apl666.blogspot.com/

Short of ideas - well not the faintest idea for a picture today actually. I was moping around looking for inspiration when Hazel suggested dropping an orange into a bowl of flour. So that's what we did. The real bonus was that she hoovered the mess up too!!

I made it out this lunchtime and popped down to one of my favourite venues - St Margarets Bay. I only took a few snaps as the weather was horrible and even though my new camera is supposedly weather proof I didn't want to try it out. I wanted a longer exposure on the water - really must get myself a ND filter. I have also heard of people using glass from welding masks but I haven't got one of those either!

A funny old day to day. I set myself a target to get out at lunchtime and take a picture outside - I failed miserably. I then lost my diary, there is nothing of any significance in it but you know how frustrating it is when you lose something. In the quest to locate the elusive diary I found my missing MP3 player - the one I thought I had left on the train and Hazel's posh umbrella which has been AWOL for ages. None of this has anything to do with my picture which is my favourite - lemon meringue.

Not much time or inclination today - poorly wife, poorly dog and more snow. I did this in my usual slap dash way, gridded flash camera left set very low, fast shutter speed to kill the ambient light. What I should have done was increase the DOF and get the whole bloody glass in the picture but never mind the beer tasted fine. Cheers...

It snowed here again today and I managed to get out for a lunchtime walk. This is not the picture I wanted but it will have to do, the ups and downs of 365! This murder mystery business is not easy.

I am very proud to say that my son Thomas is attempting the project this year - his pictures are excellent! However, I feel sorry for the long suffering Hazel who now has two of us to contend with. that said we haven't seen her for a few days ......
