A quick self portrait, the camera is held in my left hand as far away from me as my arm would allow. The sweaty brow and slightly harassed look are because I'm just back from the gym and not in the mood for a photograph. Lighting from camera left accentuates my wrinkles and adds to the grumpy nature of the shot.

We popped to Eastry FĂȘte today as it was a sunny afternoon. It seemed strange to see the Band playing and not to be a part of it but it was nice to be able to stroll around, have a chat and take some pictures.

Marley passed his Bronze Award at Dog Club tonight. I have to say that he did really well with his one minute sit - stay and his heel work was great. I was concerned though because barking at the Boxer and trying to hump the Golden Retiever probably didn't score us many points.

My son's Birthday today so we had Indian takeaway. The restaurant owner sent a couple of bottles of Bangla beer for him - what a nice gesture.

I am short of inspiration - I have photographed just about everything of any interest in the house. I've hit the 365 wall.

192/365 Marley's Birthday

192/365 Marley's Birthday

So Marley has made it to his first Birthday. Amazing how many stories I have to tell from such a short period of time. Marley spent most of today in the garden chewing on a massive bone. I spent the day patching up after him!! The pond had to be emptied to recover all the things he's dropped in - he had even managed to pull out the fountain pump and chew that. Let's hope the next twelve months are as entertaining as the last.....watch this space.

This is a very frequently photographed signpost. Sadly, for some a picture is not enough people actually steal it. You can see from the picture that the pertinent part is newer than the rest of the construction.

Due to the current economic climate all pots of gold have been temporarily suspended. Normal service will resume as soon as possible.

I've been waiting to try and photograph this but tonight's attempt was a failure. I wanted to underexpose the sky and use a slow shutter speed to get some motion blur in the blades also use a reflector or flashes to light the structure. Sadly I failed on all of the above but never mind there will be plenty more opportunities. Tonight's feeble attempt was heavily photo shopped to appear abstract - it didn't even look good in black and white that's how bad it is.

My target this weekend was to complete the editing of the prom pictures. I suffered a bit of a set back as the monitor I was originally using was not accurate resulting in much re-editing and my chief Dodge and Burn'er is away on a field trip. Anyway, on completion did I sit for half an hour relaxing before bed - no chance. The curse of 365 found me crawling around the carpet with my trusty camera and a couple of torches or flash lights for those of you from across the pond, trying to interestingly light a pattern on the rug. My wife disappeared upstairs with a supportive look of disbelief but at least for me it is done - until tomorrow!!

184/365 School Prom

184/365 DSC_3686

A while ago my son asked if 'we' could photograph his school prom. I thought it sounded like a good opportunity and a bit of a challenge so we agreed to do it. On the run up to the event Thomas realised that he would be away on a geography field trip!! Rather than cancelling I enlisted the help of my wife and a talented young photographer, Joanna Lane. I set up a Photobooth and left Joanna to capture the reportage images. We had a great night and took loads of pictures. If you are on Facebook search 'Dover Design' join our group and you will be able to view many of the pictures.
